We are looking for a suitable candidate to fill in the position of Safety, Health, Environment, Quality (SHEQ), Plant & Property Coordinator for Atlas Copco Eastern Africa. This position will be charged with coordinating the safety, health, environment & quality matters in the company and ensuring that the company maintains the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. The candidate will also take care of plant and property and ensure that all employees operate in a neat, safe and secure environment compliant with government regulations and Atlas Copco’s Group standards. The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya and reports to the HR & Administration Manager.

Mission

  • Coordinate the SHEQ functions in the organization- Conduct risk assessments and make recommendations for improvement- Ensure all safety requirements are adhered to by all employees and Atlas Copco partners- Responsible for work place adherence to the Occupational, Health and Safety Act (OHS Act 2007)- Champion various safety initiatives eg, Annual Safety Day- Responsible to schedule and chair safety committee meetings and monthly toolbox meetings- Facilities management in compliance with local authority regulations and Atlas Copco standards- Project lead for new buildings and related improvements- Maintain the integrated certified management system that fulfills ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards- Advise and support management to ensure that procedures and policies are implemented, operating effectively and that all personnel are fully engaged and trained in the processes- Track and report KPI’s as required by the Group- Ensure compliance with annual statutory inspections including plant inspection, OSH audits and NEMA audits – Ensure compliance with statutory employee training- Ensure that objectives and targets are in line with the Group goals

Experience Requirements

  • 2 years relevant experience – Internal audit in ISO Standards – Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills- Good organization and teamwork abilities- Good command of written and spoken English- Ability to build strong and effective working relationships with stakeholders

Educational requirements

  • University degree in relevant field- Safety, Health & Quality certifications

Personality requirements

  • Strong planning, organizational skills and ability to think on their feet- Innovative in nature and able to take initiatives- Ability to handle multiple assignments and pressure- Must be self-driven
