About the Fellowship Program

Since 2007, CleanStar has run an annual Fellowship Program for exceptional mid-career professionals who seek to use their insights and capabilities at the early stages of ventures.

Ideal candidates are independent thinkers, with deep general knowledge, strong relationship networks, unbounded intellectual curiosity and the desire/capacity to take real risk. They thrive in unstructured and fast‐evolving environments, are able to synthesize core insights and challenge key assumptions, and can communicate effectively in a way that shapes the strategy for a venture.

Most candidates accepted for the Program have an excellent track record of academic, professional or personal achievement, often in a different discipline, geography or market than the one they seek to explore next in their careers.

After completion, Fellows have progressed to executive leadership or co-founding roles within CleanStar or portfolio ventures, have left to start up their own ventures, or have transitioned to executive roles with other startups or investment groups.   Fellowships run for a period of six months, and include a stipend to cover living costs.
