Job Description

AgriFlex is a comprehensive digital agriculture platform designed specifically for African farmers, enhancing agricultural productivity across the continent through innovative solutions, data-driven insights, and cutting-edge technology tailored for African farming practices.

Accountant

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations, ensure statutory compliance, support investor reporting, and strengthen internal financial controls as Agriflex scales. This role is critical in maintaining financial discipline across multi-outlet operations and supporting informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Accounting & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts in compliance with IFRS and Kenyan accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
  • Support preparation of audited financial statements and liaison with external auditors.
  • Track and reconcile revenue streams across outlets, agro-dealers, and service lines (inputs & drone services).
  • Budgeting & Cash Flow Management
  • Support annual budgeting and rolling forecasts.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Prepare cash flow projections and flag risks early to management.
  • Compliance & Statutory Reporting
  • Ensure timely filing and payment of statutory obligations (KRA – VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Corporate Tax; NSSF; NHIF; Housing Levy).
  • Maintain accurate tax records and support tax audits or reviews.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Manage supplier invoices, payment schedules, and reconciliations.
  • Track receivables from agro-dealers and institutional clients.
  • Support credit control and debtor follow-ups to improve collections.
  • Internal Controls & Documentation
  • Strengthen internal financial controls and approval workflows.
  • Maintain proper documentation for expenditures, procurements, and asset registers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in SMEs, agribusiness, logistics, or tech-enabled companies.
  • Strong understanding of the Kenyan tax and regulatory environment.
