Job Description

Accounts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Annual Budget Preparation & Control: Prepare and analyze annual budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Management Accounts: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, trial balances, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Financial Statements & Audits: Prepare annual financial statements, assist with audit preparations, and liaise with auditors to ensure timely authorization and filing.
  • Licensing & Compliance: Oversee licensing, and permit acquisition, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Supervision of Finance Department: Manage and supervise all activities within the finance department.
  • Accounts Receivables & Credit Management: Oversee management of debtors and ensure timely collections.
  • Creditors & Payment Reconciliation: Reconcile and process timely payments to sundry creditors.
  • Cashbook Management & Bank Reconciliations: Oversee all cashbooks (petty cash, credit bank, etc.), and ensure timely bank reconciliations.
  • Underwriters’ Account Reconciliation: Ensure accurate reconciliation of insurer statements with ledger entries.
  • Commissions Collection: Ensure timely collection of commissions from underwriters on direct payments.
  • Fixed Asset Register & Statutory Payments: Prepare and maintain a fixed asset register and ensure payment of all statutory accounts.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other relevant tasks as the CEO or General Manager assigns.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the insurance industry will be a distinct advantage.
  • The ideal candidate is unemployed and ready to take on a new challenge in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
