Job Description

The Beginning Roam was founded in 2017 just as electric mobility was taking off, when electric cars were just arriving on our streets. Roam vision is to make electric transport more accessible to a broader market by making the technology more cost efficient and simplifying deployment.

Summary

The technical after-sales technician is responsible for all preventive and corrective maintenance support issues of electric vehicles and energy storage systems produced and sold by Roam Limited. The technician must ensure that there is maximum availability and functionality of support cases while following the set standard operating procedures and drafting all technical reports of events.

Responsibilities

  • Use diagnostic equipment to evaluate electric vehicle and energy storage system problems.
  • Inspect and evaluate electric vehicles and energy storage systems for maintenance and repair needs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance repairs on electric vehicles and energy storage systems according to established schedules.
  • Demonstrate preventive maintenance practices and visual inspection to customers.
  • Perform charging and discharging of lithium-ion batteries to ensure proper functionality.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of preventive maintenance and battery-related activities.
  • Operate tools, equipment, and machinery following prescribed safety procedures.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment while handling maintenance tasks.
  • Follow safety guidelines for tasks like lifting, climbing, and other maintenance activities.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in the workspace and report any uncorrectable conditions to the line manager immediately.
  • Help improve housekeeping procedures and techniques to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Report significant events to the line manager and the chief operations officer.
  • Maintain accurate records of time and materials required for repairs and service.
  • Operate electric vehicles and energy storage systems as needed, which may involve working irregular hours.
  • Fulfil any other duties assigned by the line manager to support the smooth functioning of operations.

Qualifications

Must have 

  • At least 1 to 2 years experience working with motorcycles
  • Must have a valid Motorcycle driving license
