Uasin Gishu County is situated in the mid-west of the Rift Valley covering an area of 3,345.2 square kilometers and lies between longitude 34 degrees 50’ east and 35 degrees 37’ west and latitude 0 degrees 03’ south and 0 degrees 55’ north

Requirements for Appointment: – –

• Certificate in any of the following disciplines: Animal Health, Animal Health and Production from a recognized institution.
• Possess a current valid practicing certificate; and
• Membership of a relevant professional body;
• Certificate in meat inspection from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities: –

• Carry out treatment of animals as per the skills acquired;
• Participate in disease search and reporting;
• Demonstrate milking techniques and external parasite control techniques such as dipping, spraying and dusting;
• Carry out vaccination of livestock;
• Undertake closed castration, dehorning, deworming, disbudding, docking, debeaking and hoof trimming.
• Undertake meat inspection; and
• Carry out slaughterhouse hygiene and meat transportation regulations
