Job Description

Migori County is a county in the former Nyanza Province of southwestern Kenya. It is located in western Kenya and borders Homa Bay County, Kisii County, Narok, Tanzania and Lake Victoria to the West. The county also borders Uganda via Migingo Island in Lake Victoria.

Summary

Basic Salary Scale: Ksh 90,200 – Ksh 124,630 p.m. House Allowance: Kshs. 21,000 Commuter Allowance: Ksh 12,000 p.m. Leave Allowance: As provided in the Civil Service Annual Leave: 30 working days per financial year Medical Cover: As provided by the Government Terms of Service: Four (4) years Contract

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an applicant must:

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Public Administration, Business Administration/ Management, Political Science, any other Social Science or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in Kenya
  • Masters’ degree will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 7 years working experience with prior leadership roles from public or private institution
  • Certificate in computer application skills from an institution recognized in Kenya
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of performance and operations management techniques
  • Experience in performance and operations management
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and quality standards
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Aptitude in problem-solving

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Assist in developing and implementing plans and goals for the department
  • Work with the director to coordinate and supervise daily operations
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies
  • Monitor attainment of objectives
  • Assist in budgeting and monitoring expenses
  • Maintain scheduling of events and represent the organization when needed
  • Create reports and submit them to the director or other executives
  • Fulfill duties as assigned by the director
  • Monitors the performance of the department and individual employees
  • Establishes and enforces departmental policies
  • Ensures that departmental policies are compliant with regulations
