Job Description

Kitui County is located 170Km to the South East of Nairobi City. It covers an area of about 30,496 km2. It borders Machakos and Makueni Counties to the West, Tana River County to the East, Taita-Taveta County to the South, and Embu and Tharaka- Nithi Counties to the North.

Assistant ECDE Teacher III – 31 Posts

Requirements for Appointment

  • Kenyan Citizen
  • KCSE mean grade D+ (Plus) or equivalent
  • Certificate in ECDE (KNEC or approved equivalent)
  • Registered with Teachers Service Commission (TSC)
  • Any other requirement KCPSB may deem necessary

Duties & Responsibilities (entry grade)

  • Class teaching
  • Role modelling & mentorship
  • Guidance and counselling
  • Preparing reports
  • Ensuring safety & security of learners
  • Organize play/learning activities
  • Holistic development (spiritual, moral, social, mental, physical, aesthetic, emotional)
  • Manage ECDE classes & professional records (schemes of work, lesson plans, attendance)
  • Prepare and develop play/learning materials
  • Work under guidance of senior teacher for mentoring

The completed KCPSB 2 Employment form, together with copies of applicant’s National Identity Card, professional certificates, academic certificates and transcripts, should be submitted to the Kitui County Public Service Board jobs portal on or before Monday 10th August, 2026.
