The seat of the County Government – Marsabit town, is situated 270Kms north of Isiolo town, with most trading and urban centers within the county ranging from 60Kms to over 300Kms from Marsabit town. Summary

This is the entry grade for teachers with a Certificate in ECDE. A teacher at this level will work under the guidance of a more senior teacher for the purposes of professional mentoring and growth.

Duties and Responsibilities.

• Class teaching.
• Role modeling, guidance and counseling, mentoring, and motivation of the learners.
• Preparing report
• Ensuring the safety and security of the learners
• Assist in organizing and facilitating play/learning activities for the learners.
• Caring for and nurturing the spiritual, moral, social, mental, physical, aesthetic, and emotional growth of the learners (holistic development).
• Managing ECDE classes and keeping professional and administrative records (schemes of work, lesson plans, daily program of activities, attendance registers, etc.) and ensuring learners’ safety and security.
• Preparing and developing play/learning materials.

Requirements for Appointment

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade D+ (Plus) or KCE division IV at ‘O’ Level
• Certificate in Early Childhood Development Education offered by KNEC/Ministry of Education or its approved equivalent.
• Registered by the Teachers Service Commission
• A Certificate in Computer Applications
