Job objective

AAA Roses is the flower division within AAA Growers. At AAA Roses, we produce high quality rose stems for export. We supply a wide assortment of Roses all over the world everyday fresh. Quality is our key deliverable. A happy customer is our main goal at AAA Roses.

As Assistant Field Activities Manager, you will offer support to the Field activities Manager in overseeing the daily field operations of the farm. This includes Roses trial management, general field maintenance, stores management, composting, events planning, land preparation and replanting, flower transportation, compliance and scouting. Your tasks and responsibilities

•  Plan, coordinate and oversee flower trial programs to test new varieties and cultivation techniques.
•  Monitor the performance of different rose varieties and report findings to the Management Team.
•  Oversee land preparation activities and coordinate for replanting schedules
•  Oversee all general field maintenance activities.
•  Ensure proper inventory of farm supplies including fertilizers, chemicals, tools etc.
•  Maintain accurate records of stock levels and usage.
•  Coordinate with procurement team to ensure timely procurement of the required materials/inputs.
•  Oversee the composting process and manage distribution and application of compost to improve soil fertility.
•  Coordinate for proper events planning to ensure that the farm is well prepared for event’s specific demands and activities.
•  Ensure that farm equipment and machinery within Simba roses are well maintained and operational.
•  Ensure effective management of flower transportation from fields to pack house
•  Oversee all scouting activities and compliance related activities within the farm
•  Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally. Employees are our biggest asset.

Your profile

•  Graduate in Horticulture, Floriculture or Agriculture
•  5-7 years’ experience in a farm of the same capacity; dealing with Roses Production
•  Strong understanding of Roses cultivation
•  Excellent Leadership skills and management skills
•  Analytical mindset, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and team player facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
•  Good Command of the English language, both verbal and written.
•  Proficient Computer skills in MS Office applications, particularly with Excel
