Assistant Geologist

Job Overview:

As an Assistant Geologist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our geological team by assisting in conducting site investigations, analyzing geological data, and contributing to geotechnical reports. This position provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop technical expertise in the field of geology within a dynamic, fast- paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting geological site surveys, field investigations, and sample collection for geotechnical analysis.
  • Analyze geological data, including clay, limestone, and other mineral samples, to assess subsurface conditions.
  • Record and document geological findings, preparing detailed reports for analysis and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior geologist to assess project feasibility, design recommendations, and environmental impact.
  • Assist in the preparation of geological maps, models, and visualizations for various construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain and calibrate geological testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Support the development of geological reports and provide technical input for project proposals.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all fieldwork and laboratory analysis.
  • Stay updated on the latest geological practices, tools, and techniques.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience or internships in geological fieldwork, geotechnical analysis, or environmental geology is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of geological survey methods, clay testing, and geological data data analysis.
  • Familiarity with geological software and data interpretation tools is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings effectively.
  • A valid driving license is an advantage for fieldwork.
