Uasin Gishu County is situated in the mid-west of the Rift Valley covering an area of 3,345.2 square kilometers and lies between longitude 34 degrees 50’ east and 35 degrees 37’ west and latitude 0 degrees 03’ south and 0 degrees 55’ north

Requirements For appointment:-

• Diploma in any of the following fields:-Animal Science, Animal Production, Livestock Production or Dairy Technology from a recognized Institution;
• Proficiency in computer applications from a recognized institution;
• Possess a current valid practicing certificate;
• Membership to a relevant professional body; and
• Demonstrate professional competence in work performance and results.

Duties and Responsibilities: –

• Carry out practical demonstrations relating to livestock production;
• Accompany extension teams during farm visits and farmer training;
• Participate in field days and agricultural shows to disseminate livestock production technologies and information;
• Collect and collate livestock data and information for gross margins, market access and planning;
• Participate in collaborative research activities; collecting Livestock inputs and products samples for analysis;
• Advise individual farmers and those in group formations on construction of farm structures and equipments.
