Job Description

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) was established by an Act of Parliament, Chapter 469 of the laws of Kenya , which became effective on 1st July 1995 . The Authority is charged with the responsibility of collecting revenue on behalf of the Government of Kenya. A Board of Directors, consisting of both public and private sector experts, makes policy decisions to be implemented by KRA Management. The Chairman of the Board is appointed by the President of the Republic of Kenya . The Chief Executive of the Authority is the Commissioner General who is appointed by the Minister for Finance. PURPOSE OF KRA Assessment , Collection, Administration and Enforcement of laws relating to revenue.

Purpose of the job

  • The role is responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the evaluation, monitoring, and regulation of petroleum-related activities within designated customs and border control areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in petroleum engineering to support the evaluation and monitoring of petroleum-related activities and enforce compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct compliance checks on Oil installations and petroleum stations to curb adulteration and diversion of transit fuel into local market.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate mitigation measures related to petroleum operations within customs and border control zones.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed technical reports, documentation, and records related to petroleum engineering activities.
  • Correspondence with Oil Marketing Companies on matters Petroleum Monitoring and taxation.
  • Management of Performance, Audit, Integrity, QMS and Risk programmes

Requirements

Academic qualification

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field from a recognized university

Professional qualification

  • Relevant Engineering certification from a recognized body

Work experience

  • Minimum four (4) years’ relevant work experience of which one (1) year should be at Supervisory role.
