Job Description

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) was established by an Act of Parliament, Chapter 469 of the laws of Kenya , which became effective on 1st July 1995 . The Authority is charged with the responsibility of collecting revenue on behalf of the Government of Kenya. A Board of Directors, consisting of both public and private sector experts, makes policy decisions to be implemented by KRA Management. The Chairman of the Board is appointed by the President of the Republic of Kenya . The Chief Executive of the Authority is the Commissioner General who is appointed by the Minister for Finance. PURPOSE OF KRA Assessment , Collection, Administration and Enforcement of laws relating to revenue.

Purpose of the job

The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Customs regulations, coordinating implementation of policies, strategies, and procedures in the Post Clearance Audit in line with KRA’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate compliance with customs laws, regulations and procedures
  • Correspondence with taxpayers on matters audit
  • Facilitate signing of demand letters to facilitate audit operations.
  • Preparation and timely submission of reports, both regular and adhoc, on Audit activities;
  • Management of stakeholder relationships
  • Management of Performance, Audit, Integrity, QMS and Risk programmes

Requirements

Academic qualification

  • Bachelors degree in either Finance, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Information Technology or related filed from a recognized university.

Professional qualification

  • Membership to a relevant professional body.

Work experience

  • Minimum four (4) years’ relevant work experience of which one (1) year should be at Supervisory role.
