Job Description

Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) is the government parastatal whose responsibility is to assure the quality of agricultural inputs and produce to prevent adverse impact on the economy, the environment and human health.

Duties and responsibilities: – 

  • Developing and updating file index;
  • Receiving and filing of records and information;
  • Making data entries;
  • Storing and retrieving records and information;
  • Tracking of files and documents;
  • Indexing, profiling and distribution of memos;
  • Circulating of files and documents;
  • Receiving, filing, retrieving and dispatching of records and information.

Persons Specification 

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –

  • Higher National Diploma/Diploma in any of the following field: Library and Information Science, or Records and Information Technology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Meets requirements of the Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.

Skills

  • Proficiency in computer applications;
  • Organizational skills
  • Communication skills; and
  • Administrative skills
  • Analytical skills and keen to details.

Competencies

  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work;
  • Experience in document indexing;
  • Demonstrated experience in Filing.
