Job Description

Position: Business Development Executives

Location: Nairobi

Reports to: Sales Team Lead

Role Overview

We are looking for 3 highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Executives to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth for Jiji Kenya. This role is crucial in onboarding new sellers and promoting Jiji’s Premium Services to increase our paying customer base. As a key part of the field sales team, you will identify potential sellers, convert leads into paying customers, and support them in maximizing their business on Jiji.

This is a high-impact role that offers growth opportunities, competitive commissions, and a dynamic work environment.

Primary Objective

To drive sales growth by acquiring and retaining paying customers, ensuring a consistent increase in revenue while meeting or exceeding monthly targets.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Identifying & Engaging Prospects
    • Proactively seek out business owners and sellers in assigned territories.
    • Conduct field visits to introduce Jiji’s premium services and close deals. Establish relationships with sellers to drive long-term engagement.
  2. Sales & Customer Interaction
    • Present Jiji’s value proposition effectively to potential customers.
    • Convert leads into paying customers for Jiji’s Premium Services.
    • Address customer objections and resolve concerns professionally.
  1. Customer Onboarding & Support
    • Guide new users through the Jiji registration process and profile setup.
    • Assist sellers in creating quality listings to enhance visibility.
    • Provide basic training on how to optimize sales on the platform.
  2. Selling Jiji’s Premium Services
    • Explain the benefits of Jiji’s paid services and recommend suitable packages.
    • Follow up with clients to ensure renewals, upsells, and continued usage.
    • Monitor customer satisfaction and report feedback for service improvement.
  3. CRM Updates & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of leads, sales, and follow-ups in the CRM.
    • Provide daily sales updates and performance reports to the Sales Team Lead.
    • Participate in strategy meetings to share insights, challenges, and opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in field sales, preferably in the car industry.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • Confident, self-motivated, and resilient in handling objections.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience using a CRM system for tracking sales activities is a plus.
