Summary

Our client, a biomass, steam, and thermal energy giant, is seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead their expansion efforts across Africa. Their team, a group of highly dedicated professionals, is already making a significant impact on the continent’s energy landscape.

  • Our ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in business development in the renewable energy sector and an impressive project portfolio. You get a gold medal if you are fluent in French or African languages. Your negotiation and communication skills are killer, but most importantly, you think differently – wholistically.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or economics field
  • Postgraduate degree highly advantageous

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the biomass, thermal, or steam industry
  • Have worked on biomass, thermal, and/or steam projects in Africa

Responsibilities

  • Market Expansion: Identify and explore new market opportunities in the renewable energy sector across Africa, focusing on biomass, steam, and thermal projects
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, and local communities to foster strong partnerships
  • Proposal Development: Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals and bids for new projects, ensuring alignment with client needs and organisational goals
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analyses and feasibility studies to support investment decisions and secure project financing
  • Sales and Revenue Growth: Drive sales initiatives and revenue growth by identifying and targeting potential clients and markets
  • Project Management: Oversee the successful execution of business development projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of business development professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to inform business development strategies and capitalise on emerging opportunities
