Job Description

Izwe Africa Holdings is a specialist Financial Solutions Group targeting both the formally and informally employed markets with the primary offering of unsecured loans to the under-banked. The Group has grown into a dynamic, rapidly developing pan-African micro-financier and insurer with operations in South Africa, Mauritius, Zambia, Ghana and Kenya.

Job Scope:

Reporting to the Head of SME, The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving growth and success in the branch. He / She will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building a successful sales team, building, and nurturing relationships with clients, and developing strategies to expand our market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and research potential business opportunities and market trends.
  • Develop and implement effective business development strategies for the branch.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct market analysis and competitor research
  • Negotiate and close deals to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business-related field
  • Proven history of success in a similar role, with 3+ years of working experience in a financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of the microfinance industry and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Initiative-taking and results-driven.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
