Profile:

Our client is a HR Consultancy firm operating in Kenya and beyond and offering various professional management and advisory services in Human Resources is urgently seeking to hire a Business Manager on full time basis.

Job purpose

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementation of business strategy, managing and coordinating overall business operations within the organization.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Business Strategy and Operations

  • Contribute to the realization of the mission and vision of the organization.
  • Be responsible for all departmental heads including account managers.
  • Be responsible for general compliance of the organization to relevant institutions.
  • Work closely with Managing Director and management team to set policies, procedures, systems and oversee their implementation.
  • Communicate business strategy and direction to the management team.
  • Provide leadership and inspire the management team.

Human Resources Management

  • Set the tone and establish a culture that support business.
  • Become the brand ambassador for the business
  • Communicate and involve all employees in the formulation and implementation of business strategy.
  • Be responsible for continuous review of business organizational structure to respond to market needs
  • Provide support to management team to ensure the organization attracts, develops and retains top talent.

Business Development

  • Be responsible for overall business development strategy.
  • Champion the use of digital marketing technology for business growth.
  • Be responsible for positioning of the brand above competition.
  • Be responsible for establishing, enhancing and maintaining strong business relationships with clients and partners.

Business Performance

  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Oversee the financial health of the organization.
  • Communicate customer expectations with management team and devise ways to consistently improve customer experience.
  • Ensure business performance status reports are prepared, shared and discussed on monthly basis with management team.
  • Ensure action on/implementation of matters arising from business status reports and discussion with management.

Performance Evaluation:

  • Establish a performance management system to evaluate individual employees’ performances.
  • Be responsible for implementation of recognition and reward strategy.
  • Be responsible for determination, setting and execution of organization’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensure that evaluation of individual employees’ performance is reviewed on monthly basis.

Risk Management:

  • Develop and implement risk management policies and plans.
  • Provide leadership through challenging situations with resilience and adaptability.

Technology and Innovation:

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Be responsible for championing technological innovations in all aspects of business in the organization.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Be responsible for development of brand image and standard of presentation and communication to business partners.

Person Qualification:

Successful candidate MUST have the following qualifications;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related degree from a recognized university
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • Post graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • Have at least five (5) years’ experience in the field of HR Consultancy, State and University enterprises.
  • Be a Member of Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in good standing
