About role

The Kenya BPM function is charged with handling time relevant performance management cycle that focuses building annual plans aligned to KBL’s strategic goals and then regularly review and course-correct the annual plans to deliver the targets in an evolving operating environment. The role works in partnership with KBL Executive members, Functional Heads, Planning, and both local and Group Finance functions.

Purpose of role

  • BPM: Drive detailed planning & reporting processes to see to it that annual plans and O&R forecasts, are developed right the first time. Develop, implement, and refine business performance management processes supporting KBL and KBL Exec to achieve the end-to-end performance aspirations including P&L, Working Capital and Environmental, social and governance (ESG) ambitions.
  • Insights for decision support: Routinely generate and publish both financial and commercial insights that drive better understanding of business drivers and provoke requisite intervention plans.

Role responsibilities

The responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to;

  • Run and handle sustainable business performance processes to ensure business objectives are achieved.
  • Generate valuable insights that provoke intervention initiatives towards delivery of both short term and long-term business targets in a volatile business environment.
  • Act as key point of interface between KBL, Plan Centres of Excellence and EABL Group on performance.
  • Handle key relationships with Shared Services and other centers of excellence to ensure all contributors to the BPM process work seamlessly.
  • Partner with a wide range of internal stakeholders from commercial to marketing, finance, and supply.

Key accountabilities

  • Drive the monthly O&R forecasts and drive gap analysis and risk/opportunity identification.
  • Business performance Management including supporting the annual operating plan cycle.
  • Supporting in the preparation of materials for Quarterly Board meetings and other Board/ Exec deliverables Monthly management reporting requirements are met.
  • Constructively challenge, input and improve value in key business areas and drive outstanding business performance.
