Job Description

CAD Design Engineer

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare detailed CAD drawings for road works, drainage, utilities, and associatd infrastructure.
  • Convert design concepts, sketches, and survey data into accurate technical drawings.
  • Update drawings to reflect design changes, site instructions, and as-built conditions.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with KURA specifications, standards, and approved design guidelines.
  • Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and site teams to obtain accurate technical information.
  • Maintain proper version control and drawing registers for all project drawings.
  • Prepare as-built drawings upon completion of works.
  • Support quantity take-offs and measurement activities using CAD drawings where required.
  • Participate in design review meetings and incorporate comments from KURA and consultants.
  • Ensure timely submission of drawings to meet project timelines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, CAD, or related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience is an added advantage).
  • Minimum 2–4 years relevant experience in infrastructure or road projects (KURA, KeNHA, or similar).
  • Experience working with road alignment, cross-sections, drainage, and utility layouts.
