Job Description

BURN designs, manufactures, and distributes aspirational fuel-efficient cooking products that save lives and forests in the developing world.BURN has revolutionized the global cookstove sector by proving the business case for selling a high quality, locally manufactured and unsubsidized cookstoves.

About the role:

BURN Manufacturing strives to provide environmentally sustainable cooking solutions across Africa and beyond. We’re seeking an experienced, solutions-oriented Carbon Financial analyst to help contribute to our objective.

An ideal candidate is expected to be comfortable working with all levels of management to gain an in-depth understanding of our strategy and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial models for project financing related to carbon offset credit projects.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates for investor reporting.
  • Develop and maintain carbon project analyses including KPIs and benchmarking tools.
  • Support in identifying and tracking potential project opportunities, through developing project financial reporting models.
  • Prepare materials for proposals and/or reporting related to carbon projects and analyses conclusions.
  • Provide timely and accurate projects ‘financial information to support reporting and decision-making processes.
  • Creating and updating budgets/forecasts for carbon projects and assessing performance against them
  • Any other duties as may be assigned in line with the role’s developing needs.

Skills and Experience:

  • Clear verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong ability to manage projects and timelines independently.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills as it relates to financial modelling.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years’ work experience in financial modelling and analysis role
