Certification & Audit Associate

Description

We are looking for a sharp, adaptable, and purpose-driven Operational Associate to support our global operations team, specifically in executing certification and audit processes for our environmental projects. You will work directly with our Technical Director, gaining hands-on experience in coordinating and preparing for third-party audits under international standards such as Verra and Gold Standard. These audits are essential for turning project outcomes into verified, market-ready products like carbon and plastic credits.

This is a unique opportunity to be mentored by a global leader in green tech operations, develop deep expertise in environmental certification, and help deliver tangible, real-world sustainability outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the planning, coordination, and documentation of project certification and audit processes under Verra, Gold Standard, and other standards.
  • Assist with data collection, structuring, and evidence assembly for verification audits.
  • Draft, review, and organize documents required for project design documents (PDDs) and monitoring reports.
  • Engage with international field teams and auditors to gather inputs and clarify technical and operational questions.
  • Help articulate project methodologies and interventions using clear, concise, and scientifically sound language.
  • Apply structured thinking and common sense to triage issues, solve problems, and keep processes running smoothly.
  • Learn continuously from your mentor, taking on greater responsibility over time.

Requirements

  • A high-performing junior candidate—sharp, curious, and precise in execution.
  • Master’s degree in environmental science, economics, law, sustainability, international development, natural resource management, or a related field.
  • Up to 3 years of work experience, ideally with exposure to research, field operations, or environmental initiatives.
  • Strong grasp of scientific reasoning and methodology, with the ability to apply it in real-world contexts.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and clear communication (both written and spoken).
  • Genuine motivation to build a career in sustainability and environmental markets.
  • Someone who “gets it”, you have strong common sense, you’re resourceful, and you remain calm under pressure.
  • Based in the Netherlands and eligible to work without visa sponsorship.
