Job Description

CARE International is a major humanitarian agency delivering emergency relief and long-term international development projects.

Purpose

The purpose of this Terms of Reference (TOR) is to outline the objectives, scope, and key responsibilities for the change management initiative within CIK.

Objectives

The primary objective of the change management initiative is to:

To align the organizational structure, HR processes, job designs, and the organization culture with the new CIK strategy.

Scope of work

Change Assessment:

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment to identify areas requiring change within the organization based on the new CIK strategy and the objective of this change management.
  • Assess the impact of potential changes on different departments, teams, and stakeholders.
  • Change Strategy Development: Develop, recommend, and co-implement (to a necessary extent) the identified areas of change.
  • Develop a detailed change management strategy outlining the steps, timelines, and resources required.
  • Establish a clear communication plan for conveying the reasons behind the change and its anticipated benefits.
  • Identify key stakeholders and create engagement plans tailored to their needs.
  • Together with the Management, implement the change management plan and closely monitor progress.
  • Support to address any issues or concerns that arise during the implementation phase.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the changes and gather feedback from stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and refinement of the change management process.

Align the change outcomes in CIK to CARE Global Vision 2030 and other ongoing change and systems improvement processes in The CARE International Federation.

Qualification of the Consultant

  • Extensive experience and proven track record of successful change management and supporting the delivery of such projects in INGOs.
  • Understand the Kenyan legal environment and non-profit setup and the laws that govern the sector.
  • Understanding of global or international development field and experience working in international contexts.
  • Experience in leading organization development, structure, and human resource-related change processes
  • Strong Communication skills as well as Interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Registered company with relevant up-to-date certifications/registrations from relevantauthorities.
