Job Description

Sheer Logic Management Consultants (SLMC) was incorporated in 1997 as a limited liability company whose overall aim is to provide Human Resource consultancy and training services to a diverse set of industries and economic sectors; both private and public.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will foster an organization that is value based by providing the vision, strategy and general management skills necessary to grow the company into a dominant player in its industry and lead to a tremendous growth. The company is at an exciting juncture in its development with significant growth opportunities derived from expanding the range of products it manufactures and the CEO is expected to drive this agenda through a dedicated team of both senior management and other midlevel managers. The business has recently completed a significant build project to facilitate the necessary space to achieve this growth.

Key Responsibilities

The Managing Director will be responsible for all aspects of the smooth running of the business both at a strategic level and in steering day-to-day operations.
To aid them in this respect the candidate will have responsibility for an experienced team of senior management including Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Technical, Production, product development, Sales, Marketing, retail, Human Resources, and Stores. Alongside these senior roles there is a substantial team of mid-level management.
Budgeting and finance will be managed by the Company Finance Controller in conjunction with the Group Chairman. This will include development and implementation of a strategic plan to advance the company’s vision, mission, strategies and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization. The CEO will act as the key face of the company and work with a cutting edge management team dedicated to:

  • Delivering world-class products and services,
  • Manage existing customer and channel partner relationships,
  • Develop new customers and channels to market
  • Develop strategic partnerships
  • Ensure all revenue and profit goals are achieved
  • Deliver shareholder value.
  • While all aspects of the Company’s business require focus, in the FMCG Market, relationships, agility, growth and profitability are especially important to the long term.
  • General Description and Responsibilities:
  • Working with the management team to satisfy consumer needs, develop and nurture new and existing customers, partnerships, strategic alliances and other market opportunities.
  • Ensure revenue growth is achieved in a responsible and profitable manner.
  • Development, review and refinement of the Company’s business strategy, and execution of that strategy to obtain a leading position in the marketplace
  • Building relationships and credibility with outside investors to provide necessary resources to fund and grow the Company.
  • Provide high-level strategic and tactical leadership to the Board and the management team
  • Be the guide and mentor for the Team, ensuring the company is well positioned in the market
  • Motivate a high performance, innovative and results-driven organization.
  • Develop performance measurements and ensure these metrics are achieved.

Role Attributes:

This role requires a CEO that:

  • Drives the strategic direction of the business with a vision for innovation, a mindset of continuous growth, and ability to engage with all echelons of business –from internal stakeholders to clients and investors.
  • Has a highly visible ability to carry the company’s image and brand in one’s public demeanor.
  • A great fit for the company’s vision and has the necessary skills and traits not only to plan and strategize a company’s success, but also to be the face of its success.
  • Someone with very Good English language skills / Good IT skills
  • Leadership and managerial experience including heading up a team, setting strategy, achieving targets, and evidence of a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Experienced in HR management especially in an organization of similar size (350+ staff)
  • Experience in labor relations and negotiating with labor unions.
  • An ability to read financial statements and track performance to budget
  • An ability to review systems of work (especially in a manufacturing environment) and implement efficiency programs best Manufacturing Practices and Sustainability.
  • Experience of working in a skilled and non-Skilled staff environment including managing stakeholders.
  • Someone with an experience of managing KRA and other regulatory bodies within Manufacturing environment.
  • Health & Safety implementation experience.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in any Business Field
  • Over 15 years Career experience 10 of which should be in Manufacturing environment
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
