Clinical Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Clinical team.

Overall Responsibility

  1. To provide high-quality clinical care to patients through diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and conditions, while ensuring compliance with clinical standards, protocols, and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct patient consultations, take history, perform physical examinations, and order necessary investigations.
  2. Diagnose and manage common illnesses and injuries in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  3. Prescribe medications and treatment in accordance with established guidelines.
  4. Provide emergency care, including resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill patients.
  5. Refer patients appropriately for specialized care when necessary.
  6. Participate in health education, promotion, and disease prevention activities.
  7. Support implementation of immunization, maternal and child health, and chronic disease management programs.
  8. Participate in community outreach and health screening programs.
  9. Participate in ward rounds and ensure continuity of patient care.
  10. Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential patient records.
  11. Adhere to clinical protocols, infection prevention and control standards, and safety procedures.
  12. Participate in Continuous Medical Education sessions and quality improvement activities.
  13. Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health regulations and institutional policies.
  14. Contribute to audit processes and reporting on clinical performance indicators.

Job Qualifications & Skills 

  1. Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
  2. Registered with the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya and holding a valid practicing license.
  3. Minimum of 2 years’ post-internship clinical experience in a busy healthcare facility-preferred.
  4. Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is an added advantage.
  5. Excellent diagnostic, clinical, and decision-making skills.
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
