BURN is looking for a Commercial Project Officer who will be involved in comprehensive project management responsibilities, including the development and execution of project plans aligned with organizational goals.

This encompasses coordinating project activities, monitoring progress, and adjusting strategies as needed for successful outcomes. Stakeholder engagement is crucial, involving collaboration with internal and external partners such as government agencies, NGOs, and community collaborators through meetings, workshops, and training sessions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution:

• Develop and implement project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
• Coordinate project activities, monitor progress, and adjust as necessary to meet objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community partners, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and training sessions.

Budget Management:

• Assist in the development of project budgets and financial plans.
• Monitor project expenditures, track budget compliance, and report on financial performance.

Data Collection and Analysis:

• Oversee data collection activities related to project outcomes and impacts.
• Analyse project data to generate insights, prepare reports, and make recommendations for improvement.

Quality Assurance:

• Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that project deliverables meet established standards and specifications.
• Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to measure project effectiveness.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, reports, and correspondence.
• Prepare regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Team Coordination:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure collaboration and synergy across various project components.
• Provide support and guidance to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Training and Capacity Building:

• Develop and deliver training programs for project staff, partners, and community members.
• Identify opportunities for capacity building and skill development within the project teams.

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Project Management, Sustainable Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in the clean cooking industry or related environmental sectors.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient in project management tools and software.
• Data analysis and reporting skills.
• Communication skills in both written and spoken English and French or Portuguese.
• Previous experience working on projects related to clean cooking or the last mile industry.
