Job Description

At TakaTaka Solutions, We collect your waste like every other waste collector, but, instead of taking it to a landfill, we take it to our own sites, where we sort the waste, and then recycle 95% either ourselves or through our local partners. This represents one of the highest recycling rates in the world.

Duties and responsibilities.

  1. Create a material and labour list (job card) for required construction projects
  2. Make contracts with the casual workers to ensure we stay within budget at a project
  3. Make sure we stay within budget for the amount of material that was requested for a project
  4. Request for construction materials based on given timelines.
  5. Check if any structure within our facility requires repair.
  6. Supervise the facility management (cleaning drainages, dedusting outside of buildings, etc.)
  7. Specific duties and responsibilities:
  8. Supervise the construction of wooden sheds with mabati roofs
  9. Supervise construction of stone buildings with either a mabati roof or concrete slab
  10. Supervise construction of concrete roads and areas on site (hardcore, chippings, compacting concreting)
  11. Check the quality of delivered ready mix concrete
  12. Supervise leveling of areas with marking the final level (with water level or laser)
  13. Supervise digging holes and construction of retaining/support walls
  14. Supervise fitting of doors and windows into stone walls
  15. Supervise construction of water proof basins and chambers (either with waterproof concrete or damliner)
  16. Supervise construction of water channels and water drainages
  17. Do regular checks on existing structures to identify whether repairs are needed

Qualifications

  1. At least grade C+ and Above in KCSE
  2. Previous experience as a Mason  in an industrial setting.
  3.  Proper planning and documentation
  4. Demonstrated Supervisory skills
  5. Civil engineering knowledge
  6. High level of precision and keen attention to details
  7. Excellent communication and organizational skills
