Consumer Insights Specialist

Job Description

The Consumer Insights Specialist will support the Consumer Insights Manager in conducting research projects, interpreting data related to consumer behavior and market trends, and providing insights to inform strategic decision-making. The role involves contributing to pricing analysis, category insights, and shopper behavior studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert analysis by designing and conducting statistical analyses on diverse data sources, both qualitative and quantitative, and determining the most effective ways to present insights to stakeholders in user-friendly formats.
  • Analyze competitive offerings, market trends, pricing models, competitor strategies, and consumer behavior trends, delivering insights to identify opportunities and support informed business decisions.
  • Deliver holistic insights by bridging information gaps with data from primary and secondary research, competitive intelligence, consumer studies, in-house sales analytics, market share data, and loyalty program data.
  • Lead the development of project briefs, designing questionnaires, and creating focus group discussion guides and other study instruments to ensure clarity and alignment with research goals.
  • Support project lifecycles by collaborating with the Consumer Insights Manager on the design and implementation of research projects.
  • Maintain a repository of Consumer Insights, product development studies, and research reports to support customer-centric and data-driven company decisions.
  • Develop and maintain consumer insights dashboards and other data visualization tools.
  • Manage field activities and resources to ensure seamless execution of tasks.
  • Facilitate quality assurance and process improvement initiatives within the research team, ensuring research integrity and optimizing workflows for efficiency.
  • Oversee the development and regular updates of SOPs for the research team to align with the business lifecycle.
  • Lead the streamlining and updating of future study materials by conducting root cause analyses on data issues and informing the team of quality concerns related to data collection, storage, processing, or usage.

Deliverables:

  • Quality of data: Accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data to ensure it is fit for its intended use.
  • Timely delivery of Reports: The time it takes to deliver reports, analyze data, and provide insights to stakeholders.
  • Data Visualization: Effectiveness of data visualization techniques used to communicate insights and findings to stakeholders
  • Business Impact: Reports shared provide actionable insights that can be utilized in making informed decisions.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction: Feedback and satisfaction from stakeholders to understand the effectiveness of data and reports shared in meeting their needs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in consumer insights or market research, with atleast 2 years at a supervisory level
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Proficiency in Data Analytics tools such as SQL, Power BI, SPSS, R, Python
  • Proficiency in research methodology
  • Budgeting
  • Reporting
