Continuous Quality Improvement Officer

DESCRIPTION

Responsible for coordinating quality management efforts including developments, implementation, education, data collection and analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Improvement & Patient Safety

  • Develop, implement, and monitor CQI plans, projects, and initiatives across departments.
  • Support departments in identifying quality gaps and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate clinical audits, risk assessments, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Monitor key quality indicators and prepare performance dashboards and reports.

Standards, Compliance & Accreditation

  • Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health (MOH), KEPH, SHA/SHIF, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Support preparation for internal and external audits, inspections, and accreditation exercises.
  • Maintain and update quality policies, SOPs, guidelines, and tools.

Data Collection, Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret quality-related data to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Prepare periodic CQI reports for management and quality committees.
  • Track implementation and outcomes of quality improvement actions.

Training & Capacity Building

  • Conduct staff training and sensitization on CQI principles, patient safety, and quality standards.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability across the organization.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with clinical, administrative, and support teams to support quality initiatives.
  • Participate in quality, infection prevention, and clinical governance committee meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s in clinical training
  • 3–5 years’ experience
  • Skill in data analysis and interpretation
  • Regulatory and compliance knowledge
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
  • Good communication and training facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and health information systems.
