Copywriter

  • We are seeking a Copywriter to join the Communication & Public Relations team to co-create captivating and inspirational content. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting compelling written materials for various platforms, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines, and fostering collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Key responsibilities include conducting industry research, meticulously proofreading and editing for style and accuracy, and incorporating fundamental SEO techniques to enhance online visibility. Staying informed about industry developments, upholding ethical standards, and leveraging analytics for content optimization are essential aspects of the role. Success in this position requires a creative mindset, effective multitasking abilities, and strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Content creation:
  • Produce and write clear, concise and engaging content for our various platforms – website, email campaigns, social media posts, advertising materials and newsletters
  • Proofread and edit both existing and newly created content to ensure that they are free from grammatical errors, typos, and inconsistencies
  • Ensuring that all content produced complies with legal and ethical standards, such as copyright and plagiarism rules.
  • Storytelling
  • Develop the art of storytelling to create narratives that captivate readers and convey brand messages effectively across the organisation and existing products.
  • Being flexible and able to adapt writing styles to suit different platforms, audiences, and content requirements.
  • Research
  • Conduct industry market research on target audience needs and trends in the industry, as well as competitor analysis, to ensure you stay up to date with relevant, trending topics.
  • Research and create content around events for the year coinciding with world thematic days or international events, plus also including upcoming company events
  • Cultivate creative thinking to generate fresh and compelling ideas that resonate with your target audience.
  • Understanding Brand Guidelines
  • Familiarize and understand the organisation’s brand tone, voice, and style guidelines to maintain consistency in messaging across all content. This also includes brand guidelines across all company products
  • Communication
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders as necessary to understand project requirements and make revisions based on their feedback.
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure products are delivered on time and adhere to the highest quality standards.
  • Being a team player, understanding business goals, and having the drive to actualise them within and outside the current skills one possesses.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to incorporate feedback shared by members to improve and refine content.
  • Timely Delivery
  • Coordinating your work to ensure that delivery of work is based on the team’s, clients’ and stakeholders’ expectations and within sprint duration
  • Assist the Office of the Chief Product Officer (CPO) in conceptualizing and designing innovative products across different departments.
  • Active participant in the daily standups with a clear understanding of the design requirements and the ability to communicate the progress being made with one’s tasks.

Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Public Relations, Journalism, or Marketing
  • Certifications in relevant areas, such as Copywriting and Content Marketing courses, can enhance a candidate’s qualifications.

Experience

  • Experience in understanding and adapting content strategies, editorial calendars, and content plans, plus executing on relevant materials for websites, blogs, social media, email marketing, advertising campaigns or product descriptions
  • Demonstrable work or projects related to creative copywriting or relevant coursework assignments, with a strong portfolio showcasing your achievements
  • Exposure to multiple client projects that demand collaboration with designers and marketers for different clients and industries
  • Given the evolving nature of digital marketing and content creation, having an experience that demonstrates adaptability to new tools, technologies, and trends is beneficial.
