The County Chief Officer shall be the Accounting and Authorized Officer in the respective County Department and shall be responsible to the relevant County Executive Committee Member.

Terms of Service

• The County Chief Officer will serve on contract as determined by the appointing authority.
• The gross monthly salary and benefits attached to this position shall be as determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).

Duties and Responsibilities

• General administration and coordination of the respective County Department.
• Development and implementation of County Strategic Plans, Sector Development Plans, policies and regulations.
• Formulation and implementation of effective programmes to achieve sector goals.
• Promotion of national values and principles of good governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
• Overseeing the implementation and monitoring of performance management systems.
• Ensuring efficient and effective utilization of financial, human and other resources in the department and submitting regular reports.

Requirements for Appointment

• Be a Kenyan citizen.
• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
• A Master’s Degree from a recognized university in Kenya will be an added advantage..
• Where applicable, possess valid registration with a relevant professional body.
• Have vast knowledge, experience and a distinguished career spanning not less than seven (7) years, three (3) of which must be at a managerial level.
• Possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of county development objectives.
• Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
