The company opened its first manufacturing facility in Mombasa, Kenya, in 1962, rapidly widening its reach to include further countries in East Africa, and then Southern Africa.

Key responsibilities:

• Adhere to health and Safety guidelines, safe work practise and good housekeeping (wear PPEs at all times).
• Operate the cranes as per production and dispatch requirements.
• Ensure safe use of the crane by inspecting the conditions of lifting wire rope before and during use and recording observations of all checked items as per crane inspection checklist.
• Ensure proper balancing of loads to avoid damaging of material, equipments and injury to other employees and customers.
• Ensure the lifting tongs are secured with felt pads at all times to avoid creating edges damages on coils.
• Report any crane malfunctioning to the maintenance / production supervisors for corrective action.
• Carry out any other activity as instructed by the line supervisor.
• Carry out autonomous maintenance and housekeeping on cranes.

Requirements

Qualifications required:

• Minimum KCSE certificate.
• Licence in overhead crane operations
• At least 1 year experience operating overhead remote controlled cranes
