Job Description

Avenue Hospital was founded in 1995 for the purpose of managing the outpatient department at the Hospital, and to extend medical services to corporate clientele through an innovative concept of Managed Healthcare.

Credit Account Coordinator

Job Objective/Purpose

  • Ensure timely updates of insurance/ corporate requirements and verification, be the liaison person between the hospital and companies (Insurances and Direct Corporates), in line with the company’s strategic objectives. Maintain accurate Payor database in the Hospitals HMIS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be liaison person between Insurance Benefits Teams and the hospital.
  • Ensuring that all Debtors have valid contracts.
  • Be a custodian of Debtors contracts.
  • Maintaining accurate client data base regarding insurance and direct credits.
  • Ensuring that Insurance and Corporate requirements in the revenue cycle are communicated to all stakeholders through updating of the corporate folder.
  • Updating the database as and when instructions are received from insurance and direct credit companies.
  • Opening new accounts after confirming duly signed SLAs/contracts
  • Suspending schemes in the system as and when instructions are received from insurance /direct credit companies.
  • Deleting and or adding members in the scheme as and when are received from insurance /direct credit companies.
  • Allow billing through the system for items that require pre-authorization.
  • Responding to queries regarding the database from both internal and external clients.
  • Identify the cause of rejected claims and implement changes to avoid recurrence.
  • Train all relevant users on the insurance/ corporate requirements.
  • Provide leadership to achieve high performance by ensuring employee development, employee engagement and performance management to deliver organization objectives and goals to staff reporting to the position.
  • Ensure timely submission of monthly claims reports.

Person Specification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
  • CPA 2
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
