Credit Analyst

Job Summary

  • To underwrite loan applications and ensure adherence to all-risk policies and procedures in the lending process.

Job Details

  • Completes a thorough, in-depth analysis of new credit requests, credit change requests, renewals and annual relationship reviews.
  • Delivers meaningful, detailed credit analysis while providing efficient, timely service to loan officers.
  • Prepares reports, summaries and opinions for lenders on new, renewal and existing loans.
  • Maintains an excellent working knowledge of the lending policies and procedures and identifies exceptions to policy.
  • Develop and execute Credit Risk Reporting, including coordination of such reporting and execution of subsequent actions.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Banking/Economics/Accounting or other equivalent financial qualification.
  • At least 3 years post qualification experience preferably in a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Good knowledge of Asset and Sales Financing products and operations
  • Knowledge of credit policies and standards and lending and lending policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to understand financial data (Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statements, Financial Ratios, etc.) and apply those skills as they pertain to the loan underwriting process.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Ability to analyse information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  •  Ability to utilise relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with team members, company management and clients.
  • Ability to interact with people from different cultures and countries.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Accuracy, superior attention to detail and excellent follow through.
