About the Client:

Our client is a leading innovative construction solutions provider in East Africa who has a proven track record of performance driven by solid knowledge and experience in the construction industry and is seeking to hire a Credit Officer to manage credit operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential customers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and payment histories.
  • Make informed decisions on credit applications, setting appropriate credit limits and terms in line with company policies.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate timely payments and resolve any credit-related issues.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and follow up with customers to ensure prompt payment, utilizing appropriate collection techniques.
  • Identify and mitigate credit risks through proactive monitoring and regular review of customer accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records of credit transactions, including credit applications, approvals, and collections activities.
  • Prepare regular reports on credit performance, aging analysis, and bad debt provisions for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls related to credit operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in credit management or a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing or construction industry.
  • Sound knowledge of credit principles, financial analysis, and risk assessment techniques.
  • Familiarity with credit management software and financial modeling tools.
