Job Description

Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a State Corporation established through the Science and Technology (Amendment) Act of 1979, which has since been amended to Science, Technology and Innovation Act 2013. The 1979 Act established KEMRI as a National body responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya.

Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –

  • Recruitment of study participants
  • Consent study participants
  • Perform finger prick procedures and testing using rapid test device
  • Complete study forms accurately and completely
  • Data entry onto logbooks, diaries and computer
  • Organize collected data and perform simple analysis
  • Communicate field matters to supervisor
  • Attend study meetings and report on progress of work
  • Perform any other duties assigned or delegated by the study management.

Person Specifications

  • Be a holder of KCSE mean grade D+ and above or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Have certificate in HIV Testing Services (HTS);
  • Must be resident of the study area-Kisumu County;
  • Be fluent in both written and oral English & Swahili languages;
  • Proficiency in computer application.
