Job Description

Tatu is a project of Rendeavour, Africa’s largest urban land developer with over 30,000 acres of visionary projects in the growth trajectories of large cities in Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia and Democratic Republic of Congo. Rendeavour’s vision goes beyond alleviating what is a self-evident problem – that of stifling urban congestion and a dearth of quality housing and commercial property in Africa. Rather, we aim to help create the infrastructure – the living and working spaces, communities, schools and hospitals – that will help sustain and accelerate Africa’s economic growth, meet the aspirations of Africa’s burgeoning middle classes, and serve as a catalyst for further urban development.

  • Certify all architectural drawings and applications before submission to the ministry for approval
  • Evaluate and approve all construction permit applications associated with Tatu City developments.
  • Provide supervision for inspections to ensure adherence to approved plans.
  • Conduct comprehensive surveillance and monitoring of developments to ensure alignment with the City’s Masterplan provisions.
  • Review and issue occupation certificates for developments at Tatu City that meet all compliance requirements.
  • Receive and process development applications within their designated jurisdiction.
  • Conduct field inspections to verify the proper implementation of building plans.
  • Collaborate with City Enforcement Officers to enforce compliance measures for non-conforming developments.
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Physical Planning or relevant qualification from a recognized institution
  • International experience is a must
  • Must be a registered architect with BORAQs
