Job Description

Tatu is a project of Rendeavour, Africa’s largest urban land developer with over 30,000 acres of visionary projects in the growth trajectories of large cities in Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia and Democratic Republic of Congo. Rendeavour’s vision goes beyond alleviating what is a self-evident problem – that of stifling urban congestion and a dearth of quality housing and commercial property in Africa. Rather, we aim to help create the infrastructure – the living and working spaces, communities, schools and hospitals – that will help sustain and accelerate Africa’s economic growth, meet the aspirations of Africa’s burgeoning middle classes, and serve as a catalyst for further urban development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform first level review of all development submissions to confirm conformance with DCC submission guidelines before circulation to DCC review team.
  • Review development plans to determine compliance.
  • Jointly with selected members of the DCC, undertake effective consultation with project teams and property owners before and during all works concerning their property.
  • Provide required information to clients and contractors on policies, parcel plans, building development, and others.
  • Through coordination with the Clerk of Works, ensure contractors onsite understand DCC policies, parcel plans, building development, design specifications and contractors’ code.
  • Manage, track and coordinate development approvals at various levels.
  • Organize and monitor development applications review schedules to ensure adherence to turn around times.
  • Act as liaison between DCC, the clients, contractors, regulators, TCL Construction and Development team and other interested parties.
  • Attend appropriate site meetings and development application review meetings.
  • Act in all capacity, to ensure that all communication to and from the DCC are sent via the DCC email address, and the DCC team is always put in copy.
  • Jointly with the DCC team, complete any necessary research on practices and ensure that development policies are in line with the industry regulations.
  • Conduct routine site visit to ensure strict adherence to submitted and approved development plans and quality workmanship.
  • Ensure that detailed reports are prepared for on any deviations in workmanship, and the same updated on project summary updates accordingly.
  • Prepare and submit detailed analytical reports as scheduled to provide decision-makers with reliable and accurate information on the status of ongoing DCC projects.
  • Develop and present architectural design proposals, renders, drawings, specifications for Tatu City Projects.
  • Work together with the DCC admin and DCC document controller to ensure that all project files are archived accordingly on all repositories
  • Own and implement the DCC projects cycle from the inception stage all the way to the project close out stage, always acting objectively as the point of contact between the DCC and various stakeholders.
  • Support the DCC on any other duties as may be required.

REQUIREMENTS

Hard skills and experience:

  • Educational background and training in Architecture.
  • A mimimum of 6 years’ experience in construction or project management. Experience in HSE will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and coordinate several projects from inception to completion.
  • Particular attention will be made to experience in reporting ability.
  • Previous prove skills in stakeholder management and experience in coordinating projects that require peer review/reviews of any kind.
