Job Description

The hospital was started in 1909 by the Church of Scotland. It is owned and governed by the Presbyterian Church of East Africa. It is located in the Central Highlands of Kenya between the Aberdares Range and Mount Kenya 130 Km (80 Miles) North of Nairobi at altitude of 5,900ft. It is a 203 bed hospital and provides holistic health care.

Deputy College Principal

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

  • The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related medical field from a recognized university, with registration by the relevant professional body and a valid private practicing license. A Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in a health- related discipline or medical education will be an added advantage.
  • At least five (5) years’ relevant teaching or professional experience in the subject area, with the ability to integrate ICT into teaching and learning.
  • Training in medical education or management will be an added advantage. Good understanding of the psychology and learning needs of young adults.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to relate effectively with people at all levels.

  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage
  • multiple tasks, solve problems, and meet deadlines, including working under pressure when required.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, ethical conduct, flexibility, and willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A recommendation letter from a religious leader, who should also be listed as one of the referees.
