ABOUT JOB

The Deputy Head Teacher will report to the Head Teacher. He/she will be required to have knowledge on the development and implementation of the curriculum, education policies and programmes.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT;

To qualify for appointment to the grade of Deputy Head Teacher, a teacher must: –

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum mean Grade C (Plain) or equivalent qualification
• Primary Teacher Education Certificate (PTE) or its approved equivalent.
• At least three (3) years teaching experience as a Senior Primary School Teacher or Deputy Head Teacher in a reputable school.
• Must be registered with Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and have a valid teaching certificate;
• Must be conversant with the current trends in education and curriculum design.
• Demonstrate ability to use ICT within the CBC framework
• Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers;
• Having undertaken the relevant TPD modules will be an added advantage
• Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution
