Job Description

Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT) is a not-for-profit organization established in Kenya in 2009 by the Biovision Foundation for ecological development in Switzerland and supported by the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE) in Nairobi.

Summary

Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT) seeks to recruit competent and highly motivated individuals as interns in the Outreach Project. As part of the internship assignment, the intern will be required to plan and undertake a variety of duties to support the Farmer Communication Programme (FCP) information pathways – The Organic Farmer Magazine, The Organic Farmer Radio Programme, Infonet-Biovision platform, Digitalization project and Outreach services. The intern is expected to contribute to the promotion and adoption of Sustainable Agro-ecological practices and technologies to smallholder farmers through the respective Farmer Resource Centre’s. (FRCs).

The purpose of the internship

BvAT provides a limited opportunity to students and unemployed graduates to acquire the relevant skills and knowledge in order to enhance their capacity for future employability and / or fulfil their professional obligations. The intern will report to the Outreach Manager or his designate.

Qualifications and specification for the required interns

Qualification    

  • Recent graduates with a bachelor’s degree in business or statistical sciences, or related fields, with proficient use of computer applications.
  • Should not be employed or undergoing internship/ attachment elsewhere.
  • Available and willing to commit his/her time for a 6-month duration from the effective date of the internship.

Technical Skills

Good skills on the use of excel sheet for data analysis.

BvAT/Intern/Outreach/002

  • Recent graduates with a bachelor’s degree in communication or related fields, with proficient use of computer applications.
  •  Should not be employed or undergoing internship/ attachment elsewhere.
  • Available and willing to commit his/her time for a 6-month duration from the effective date of the internship.

Technical Skills

  • Some level of proficiency in report writing and photography

  • Good communication skills
