Job Description

Mwananchi Credit Limited was incorporated as a private limited company under the Companies Act (Cap 486) of the Laws of Kenya. It initially started operations under the names Mwananchi Microlink Ltd which was incorporated on 15th April 2010. On 10th January 2012, it later changed its names to Mwananchi Credit Limited.

Role Summary:

  • The Disbursement Analyst is responsible for accurate and timely payments as well as overseeing and managing the disbursement process for loans and other financial products for Mwananchi Credit Limited.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • The incumbent must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Disbursement Analyst handling financial operations in a microfinance or financial service industry.
  • Professional certifications such as ACCA are an added advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with financial software (e.g., ERP systems).

Desired Skills:

  • Processes – review loan disbursements and other financial transactions in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
  • Verify and validate loan documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness before disbursement.
  • Monitor and reconcile disbursement accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Record keeping – Maintain detailed and accurate records of all disbursement transactions and prepare reports as needed.
  • Collaboration – Team up with other departments, including, Accounts, loan officers and compliance teams, to address any issues or discrepancies related to disbursements.
  • Detail-oriented – Identify cost-saving measures and propose recommendations to management
  • Organization skills – Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal controls related to disbursement processes.
  • Analytical skills – Critic disbursement data and provide insights to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Customer service – Respond to client inquiries related to disbursements and provide exceptio- nal customer service.
