Job Description

Jubilee Insurance was established in August 1937, as the first locally incorporated Insurance Company based in Mombasa in 1937. Jubilee Insurance has spread its sphere of influence throughout the region to become the largest Composite insurer in East Africa, handling Life, Pensions, general and Medical insurance.

Role Purpose

Responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient management of insurance contracts and related documentation. This role involves reviewing and preparing insurance policies, endorsements, and other contractual documents, as well as maintaining proper documentation and records.

Main Responsibilities

Operational

  • Documentation review: Review insurance contracts, policies, endorsements, and related documents to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
  • Contract preparation: Prepare and generate insurance policies, endorsements, and other contractual documents ensuring they reflect the agreed terms and conditions.

 Corporate Governance

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to insurance contracts, maintaining adherence to industry standards and internal policies.
  • Recordkeeping: Establish and maintain a systematic and organized recordkeeping system for insurance contracts and related documentation, ensuring easy retrieval and accessibility.

 Leadership & Culture

  • Quality assurance: Conduct quality checks on contract documentation to maintain consistency, accuracy, and adherence to established standards.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with underwriters, brokers, legal team, and other stakeholders to gather and exchange information necessary for accurate contract documentation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, Finance or A Business Related Field
  • Insurance Professional Qualification

 Relevant Experience

  •  Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in Underwriting
