Job Description

Fresh Life works with municipalities and urban residents to develop and scale safe, citywide inclusive and financially sustainable sanitation solutions in fast growing cities starting with Nairobi, Kisumu and Eldoret in Kenya. Our innovative solutions are designed to suit the realities of today’s cities, which are densely populated and heavily built up, particularly in low-income areas.

Summary

As Driver 1, you will be responsible for efficiently and effectively fulfilling customer requirements by transporting materials from one location to the other, escalating all maintenance-related issues, and observing all traffic laws while in the line of duty.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in shift/route plan scrum meetings when called upon.
  • Develop and test out hypotheses to improve performance.
  • Implement preventive actions as assigned by the manager.
  • Track the route performance on actual vs planned
  • Participate in route/shift plan analysis to identify areas of improvement to increase adherence.
  • Implement corrective measures to achieve daily adherence to the plan/targets set by your Supervisor.
  • Participate in sessions to redesign routes/shift plans to improve department performance.
  • Suggest ideas to your Supervisor to redesign and implement better issues escalation and resolution mechanisms
  • Collaborate with Maintenance teams to ensure timely resolution of breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with the QHSE team to ensure workplace audits scheduled are done and
  • H&S standards adhered to.
  • Have cordial interactions with the community/clients as you do your work
  • Report any complaints or concerns raised by existing customers or any other member of the community
  • Adhere to shift schedules, work plans, and PM schedules to the satisfaction of the supervisor
  • Proactively ask or seek clarification from the supervisor on any areas of work that are unclear
  • Openly share ideas during scrum and team meetings on how current processes can be improved
  • Participate in new improvement initiatives as assigned by the supervisor
  • Use and handle assigned company assets as per the set policy

Requirement

  • High school graduate with a minimum of C-
  • An excellent record keeper who keeps information up to date
  •  At least (5) years of experience in driving heavy commercial vehicles
  • Must be a person with excellent interpersonal skills, unquestionable integrity, team player, and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Must be physically fit to drive for a minimum of 8 hrs
