Job Description

Bomet Central Technical and Vocational College (BCTVC) is a reputable public TVET institution located in Bomet County (Bomet Central Sub-County). The institute is registered and licensed under the Ministry of Education, State Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

Driver II (Bus Driver)

Job Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Transport authorized staff to designated locations in a safe and timely manner, to ensure the transport department supports the institution staff in the performance of work.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the institution’s vehicles assigned, to enhance the image of the institution and to make the vehicles user friendly.
  • Perform minor repairs and make arrangement for major repairs to ensure the vehicles are kept in good condition at all times.
  • Ensure timely change of oil, checking tyres, brakes and water levels to prevent the vehicles from breakdowns.
  • Report the accidents and incidents to the Transport Officer to ensure appropriate strategies are developed and implemented to minimize the accidents and incidents and on the associated costs. 6. Record distances travelled and fuel costs incurred for proper record keeping assist in the management of transport costs.
  • Inspect the vehicles to ensure they are fully equipped with tools and first aid kit to ensure adherence to the regulation.
  • Maintain all valid legal documents such as driving license, work tickets, insurance and safety hazards.
  • Ensure safety of the vehicles on and off the road.

Job Requirements and Qualifications.

  • K.C.S.E mean grade of D plain
  • Have driver License of Class BCE vehicles.
  • Computer Literacy
  • Conversant with NTSA Act and Regulations
  • Has Knowledge of First Aid Skills
  • Has Basic Mechanic Course.
  • At least 2 years job experience
