Job Description

The Judiciary is one of the three State organs established under Chapter 10, Article 159 of the Constitution of Kenya. It establishes the Judiciary as an independent custodian of justice in Kenya. Its primary role is to exercise judicial authority given to it, by the people of Kenya. The institution is mandated to deliver justice in line with the Constitution and other laws. It is expected to resolve disputes in a just manner with a view to protecting the rights and liberties of all, thereby facilitating the attainment of the ideal rule of law

Job Purpose:

The job holder will be responsible for supporting development and reviewing of data collection tools, and undertake data collection, collation and analysis.

Reporting Responsibilities

  • The job holder will be responsible to Planning and Research Officer I.

For appointment to this grade, the applicant must have: –

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Public
  • Policy Administration, Social Sciences, Project Management or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in computer application;
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Undertaking courts caseload data collection, collation, and analysis;
  • Cleaning Courts’ caseload data for quality checks, completeness, accuracy and consistency;
  • Preparing quarterly and annual court statistics reports;
  • Maintaining and updating Courts caseload database;
  • Supporting monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on the implementation of policies, projects, programs, strategic plans, and work plans;
  • Supporting development and review of monitoring and evaluation tools systems and procedures;
  • Compiling of programs progress reports from implementing units;
  • Supporting conduct of feasibility studies, surveys and research on emerging issues, and best practices to inform policy decisions;
  • Ensuring safe custody of Projects, programmes, policies, statistics, records, documents, and published reports; and
  • Supporting the preparation of quarterly and annual projects, programmes, and policy reports.
