Job Description

The Clean Cookstoves Association of Kenya is a private, not for profit, business membership organization (BMO) with members from both private and public sectors. It was registered under The Societies Act, Cap 108 of the Laws of Kenya, on 15th May 2013

Event Planning, Management, and Resource Mobilization Consultant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the successful planning and delivery of the 2026 Clean Cooking Week.

Event Planning and Management:

  • Develop and implement event concepts, themes, and agendas that align with project objectives.
  • Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, catering, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Develop event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for money.
  • Coordinate speakers, moderators and facilitators
  • Ensure smooth event execution, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Resource Mobilization:
  • Identify and secure resources (financial, material, or in-kind) from stakeholders, sponsors, and partners.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, donors, and private sector partners.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches to secure resources.
  • Negotiate agreements and contracts with stakeholders and vendors.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies to promote clean cooking solutions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and project beneficiaries.
  • Ensure stakeholder needs are met and their expectations are managed.

Marketing and Promotion:

  • Develop event marketing strategies, including social media, email campaigns, and press releases.
  • Design and distribute event materials, such as banners, flyers, and programs.

Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Develop evaluation tools to assess event impact and attendance.
  • Prepare post-event reports, including lessons learned and recommendations for future events.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in event management, resource mobilization, and stakeholder engagement, preferably in a development or humanitarian context.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing events and mobilizing resources.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
