Job Description

Inchcape is a leading independent global automotive distributor, acting as brand custodian for major automotive OEMs in 31 countries. Role Responsibilities

  • Continuously review and support the development, implementation, maintenance and compliance of all Health, Safety and Environment management system based on corporate, legal and stakeholder requirements.
  • Ensure that sites are actively and correctly reporting for the development and analysis of HSE leading and lagging indicators.
  • Drive the Annual HSE Plan based on the HSE Management System which includes the site reviews, Safety meetings, hazard reports, risk assessments, training plan, risk programs, safety inspections, on-site audits, drills, operational policies and procedures, management of change, contractor management, execution of HSE actions, etc.
  • Supervise the activities carried out by the different committees (including employees, contractors, contract and temporary staff, visitors etc) of Environment, Health and Industrial Safety of the organization, to ensure compliance with legal requirements or other interested parties.
  • Compliance: Define and execute industrial hygiene studies, as well as following up on the corrective measures that arise from said studies. Ensure legal HSE audit is done and review of the on-site implementation of corporate standards and risk management programs in all areas.
  • In partnership with the Site Management team, be a key proponent, trainer, implementer and executor of Safety Leadership capability and culture to ensure this is well embedded at the sites.
  • Prepare Plan, Budget and implement Construction and Maintenance Projects in consultation with functional Managers.
  • Develop and implement the Preventive and Breakdown Maintenance of Assets as per SLA.
  • Asset management, track costs by assets and develop asset replacement plan.
  • Ensure regular and regulatory inspections of facilities and equipment is carried out.
  • Set minimum facility and safety standards and ensure implementation across all sites.
  • Manage the housekeeping, cleaning and waste management procedure of the sites.
  • Manage the vehicle parking as per the traffic management plan.
  • Ensure the timely purchase and supply of personal protective equipment and office stationeries in alignment with functional managers
  • Oversee the administering and coordinating the security guarding program across all sites and supervising the security activity within its premises to meet acceptable standards.
  • Performs other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

Qualification And Experience Required

  • Professional in careers of industrial, mechanical or environmental engineering, occupational health and safety degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in similar positions. Prior proven HSE and facilities management experience in a complex manufacturing, industrial, service etc organization(s)
  • Experienced in scenario planning, security plan development, crisis/contingency planning and other security related functions
  • Experienced in contract administration, contract management, project management, asset integrity management and HSE management
  • HSE Certification from an accredited body, NEBOSH, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 is required
  • Lead Auditors qualifications in OHS or Environmental management is desirable.
  • Ability to act appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Strong collaborator and mobilizer.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical and numerical skills.
  • Passionate about process improvement and attention to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure to complete tasks on time and in line with overall planning processes.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Valid Driver’s license
