Field Quality Control Manager

Role Summary:

  • To own end-to-end Quality, Training and OSH (Occupational Safety & Health) aspects of Poa Internet’s installations and field support services.
  • Monitor quality of installations, and leverage the learning to drive continuous review, redesign and develop processes, policies, and systems that govern our installations and quality control activities while supporting the cascade process through relevant training.

People:

  • Manage a team of (3) Field Quality Control Team Leaders.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop Quality Control Procedures, Policies and Systems: Design and implement quality control policies, procedures, and audit checklists for customer premises installations. Ensure compliance with industry standards and drive continuous improvement based on audit outcomes.
  • Leveraging Insights for Continuous Improvement: Utilize established systems and processes to collect and analyze data, identify trends, and uncover non-conformities. Use root cause analysis and feedback loops to implement initiatives that reduce installation errors.
  • Internal Installations Management: Ensure efficient operations and full accountability of materials used by the internal installations team.
  • People Management: Lead the Field Quality Control team, ensuring high productivity through effective task allocation, staff training, and consistent audit execution across all team members.
  • Cross- Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with installation technicians, network engineers, and customer service teams to resolve audit findings, address process issues, and improve the overall quality of installation services.

Key competencies required for the role:

  • Knowledge and experience in implementation of major telecommunication wireless installs & commissioning in a fast-growing organization with limited resources and strict timelines.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) guidelines.
  • Strong coaching skills, with ability to motivate and engage staff while promoting a work environment that fosters creative thinking, innovation, accountability & responsibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and policy development.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation with the ability to turn this into actionable, measurable tasks that create accountability for service partners and field staff.

Academic Qualifications Required:

Degree / Diploma in an IT related field, preferably in network design, setup and management.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Proven experience in setting up networks and management of a team.
  • Must have the ability to understand, interpret and communicate with data.
